Meizius Publishing © ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
We consider collections and anthologies from all authors, published or unpublished. However, the best stories or poetry will be selected from all entries. We are looking for well-written stories, with original plots and developed characters. We like character-rich stories that cause readers to be invested in the characters. We try to avoid excessive horror, violence and sexual content, unless it is absolutely necessary to the storyline. We also do not select stories that have unresolved or weak endings, or over-used themes. All stories or poems must contain at least one element pertinent to the overall theme of the anthology. Story and poem length may vary from anthology to anthology, but will always be clearly stated in submission calls. Stories and poetry not meeting either word count or theme criteria will not be accepted, regardless of the merits of the individual story or poem.
Novel submissions are open to all published and unpublished authors; all submissions will be reviewed. We accept submissions in any genre, but try to avoid excessive horror, violence and sexual content, unless it is absolutely necessary to the storyline. The most important aspects of work that we expect are creativity, originality and quality of writing. Whether adult contemporary, crime, fantasy, science fiction, legal thriller, Young Adult fiction, historical fiction, realistic, dystopian or comedic, just make sure your novel is memorable and will have readers thinking about it days, even weeks later. When submitting your novel, please see formatting guidelines below. Also, please only submit the first, second and final chapters. If we are interested, we will request the entire novel.
We also accept submissions of novellas and short story collections. Short story collections should be single author only. These submissions should follow the same guidelines as novels and anthologies, as mentioned above. Short story collections should be eclectic and show the full range of the author’s talent. Each story should be separate from the others and not simply a variation on the same theme. Again, make sure your novella or short story collection is memorable. When submitting a novella, please adhere to formatting guidelines listed below. Also, please only submit the first, second and final chapters. Short story collections should also adhere to formatting guidelines. Please submit only the three stories which you feel best represent your body of work. If we are interested, we will request the entire collection.
All submissions should be formatted in either .doc, .docx or .rtf format and sent as email attachments, along with your cover letter, and should be formatted as follows:
Cover email should be a brief introduction to the author, with links to the author’s webpage, Facebook page, Twitter page and/or blog, and should include a brief synopsis of the work.
Please put the title of the work and which type of submission (novel, novella, anthology, poetry or short story collection) in the subject line of the email. Be sure to include contact information in either the cover letter or the body of the email, including the author’s full legal name and physical address, and send to email@example.com
If you have questions or concerns regarding any of our policies, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you! We look forward to reading your work!
